This is the 5c piece Nathan swallowed last week. The doc decided to remove it today. So far this coin has cost me over R1300, hospital bills excluded. I told the doctor if he found a R2 instead of the 5c, that we'll then put Nathan on a 'special diet'.

Yikes, when I think of all the money (wait let me rephrase that - COINS) we have lying around...
I shudder to think!
Glad the little guy is OK, even if your bank manager is not happy with you!
It's amazing how the value of such a small form of currency can escalate so quickly when one adds the value, investment, skill, training, and resources of a whole surgical team to it!
Blessings to Bentleydom!
Wow - I knew that the exchange rate was taking strain, but this is scary! I'm glad to hear that your son is okay. Kids sure love to put the strangest things in their mouth.
I suggest that seeing as this coin is so valuable, you should keep it in a safe place (together with the "certificate of valuation" from the doctor), and when your son is a teenager and pushing the envelope a bit when it comes to irritating Mom and Dad, you can always threaten to show it to his girlfriend...
