God has a sense of humour

Ok, this week I'm a bit slow in preparing my sermon, but I almost fell off my chair reading the Old Testament LECTIONARY reading.

Isaiah 9:1-4

"The people living in darkness have seen a great light..."

I can't wait. This should be entertaining.

The timing of this Scripture couldn't be more perfect as far as "great lights" are concerned:

- After nearly 2 weeks of rain, the sun came out yesterday!
- I also went to have all the gas bottles filled, and managed to fix the gas lamp.
- A "great light" started burning on the dashboard of my bakkie, indicating that it will soon be time to fill it up again.

And some of your readers thought that it had something to do with the end of Eskom's electricity woes? Hey, wait a minute - there was no load-shedding yesterday! Fantast...(click)
